BRS Annual Meeting 2024

Wednesday 10 - Friday 12 July 2024

Sheffield, UK

Welcome

Dear BRS Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted that so many of our friends and colleagues were able to join us at our 2024 Bone Research Society Annual Meeting in Sheffield. The University of Sheffield has a proud history of being a Civic University with a global reputation for excellence. Renowned for the excellence, impact and distinctiveness of its research-led learning and teaching and a driver for social change. There is also a long history of world leading transformative Musculoskeletal research spanning pre-clinical translational science, clinical paediatric and adult bone and cancer research being conducted within The Mellanby Centre for Musculoskeletal Research. Sheffield, the “Outdoor City”, a vibrant city bursting with character and creativity with the Peak District National Park as our backyard, a rich cultural scene bustling with music, art, independent shops and eclectic street food. So it seems the perfect place to connect and network with colleagues.

The Bone Research Society is a unique society with a friendly ethos and true community - we are looking forward to spending time with you all and are excited to be planning our meeting at The Edge Conference Centre at the University of Sheffield, set in beautiful landscaped gardens just a 5 minute drive from the city centre - the perfect location and venue for our meeting. We will also be hosting you at The Mowbray in one of the world's coolest neighbourhoods for the conference dinner!

We have been working hard with our committee to put together a new, updated scientific programme which will support pre-clinical scientists, clinicians, and allied healthcare professionals of all career stages to present and discuss the latest exciting research in our field.

The sessions will include talks by world-leading experts, our popular Early Career Researcher networking session, a Cancer and Bone Workshop, interactive image-based workshops, the Rare Bone Disease session, and of course plenty of opportunity for submitted oral communications and poster sessions. We have made sure to build in longer networking and poster presentation sessions to ensure you have plenty of time to catch up with colleagues!

If you should have any questions, please do get in touch with us at events@boneresearchsociety.org.  We hope to see you in Sheffield next July!

Best wishes
